Karolina Kurkova opened Saturday's bright-and-early Bottega Veneta show in a saffron faux fur, an inflated chignon, and a sly smile. She wasn't the only noteworthy casting---Isabeli Fontana, who also walked Versace's Friday night show at Via Gesu---hit the runway in a prim sixties look, and then Carmen Kass graced her first Milan runway of the season. Now this is one show where one might prefer to be paid in trade. Photos of tutti lovelies are in the Gallery.

Chic Exclusive! ALT Wants More Cher, Helena Bonham Carter Delivers

After Andre Leon Talley bemoaned the boring state of red carpets nowadays on Martha Stewart's show this week, apparently one of Chic's favorite style eccentrics was taking notes! You read it here first, Chic-ettes: Helena Bonham Carter has borrowed Cher's "memorable" Bob Mackie that she wore to the Oscars in 1986, and will be wearing it to the Academy Awards this weekend. Just the type of fashionable risky business ALT will be after as he judges the cookie-cutter couture-clad Oscar masses preening for the paps on Sunday.

...Too good to be true? We know. Though Helena is bound to have one of the most interesting getups, feathered headdress or not.

Andre Leon Talley wants Oscar nominees to dress like Cher. Joan Rivers ends prayer vigil.

Kelly Osbourne's Material Girl ads are kinda cute.

Time chats with Vivienne Westwood. Here's a sample: "Are you into flowers?" I ask, naively expecting a smile from a woman known to be an avid gardener. "What do you mean, 'Am I into flowers?' What a stupid question," she says, her tone as fiery as her red-orange locks."

Gadhafi: A Fashion Guide? Seriously?

Oliver Zahm thinks the Internet's democratization of fashion and the lack of "education, reflection, understanding" is bad. Internet responds: Who is Oliver Zahm, again?

Which Oscar nominee is a former model for Guess? It's NOT Geoffrey Rush.

Katie Holmes drops by MaxMara. Suri throws major temper tantrum at home, and threatens to withhold fashion advice to Mommy.

Things To Discuss: Kirsten Dunst's Bulgari Mon Jasmin Noir Ad

Things To Discuss! Things To Discuss!

Here's a look at the new ad Bulgari's Mon Jasmin Noir fragrance, starring Kirsten Dunst. It was, coincidentally, celebrated tonight in Milan with a bash at the Bulgari Hotel. Chic's left with a few questions:

1. Why is there a lion in this ad? Did he or she eat Kiki's clothes? And why is he so friendly?

2. Where can we buy one of these gigantic gallon-sized bottles of Mon Jasmin Noir? Where would we put it? How much does it weigh?

3. When did Kirsten become so sultry? We like!

There's nothing we love more than an unusual collaboration, so we're dying over this snap of Valentino and John Waters. Together at last! The iconic designer and cult director both attended Ed Ruscha's PSYCHO SPAGHETTI WESTERNS exhibition at Mr. Chow in Los Angeles Thursday night. Wouldn't that be a conversation you'd like to overhear?

We're still totally amused that Suzanne Somers was at Tom Ford's store opening in Beverly Hills last night, so we're going to give her special honors as Chic Report's Look of The Daily. Ford isn't just for Julianne Moore and Beyonce, everybody's getting in on the TF fun!
