Anna Wintour and her gorgeous daughter Bee Shaffer were early arrivals at the Met Ball tonight and didn't get as punky as we had dreamed. The belle of the ball showed up wearing a printed (shocking!) Chanel number from their Spring 2013 collection. We were really hoping she'd arrive with a mohawk, but alas...

There's not a designer around today who wouldn't have wanted to dress Karlie Kloss for The Met Ball and the winner is...Louis Vuitton. America's Sweetheart attended fashion's fave night in Vuitton and sported a new hairstyle for the big event. KK told reporters that she punkified her hair by dying her hair. Punky chic.

Anne Hathaway returns to being loyal to her pal Valentino (let's all let that Oscar night snub go) by wearing a 1992 "vintage" dress from his archives. She showed up with the man himself wearing a blonde 'do that Carey Mulligan lent her for the night. Gorgeous!

We caught up with Valentino Garavani at a screening of Gatsby at the MoMA hosted by Quintessentially Lifestyle last night, and he was very candid about his thoughts on tonight's Met Gala punk theme. "I'm not so crazy about the fashion for tomorrow night," said Garavani. "I never did [like punk style], because it's not extremely becoming or extremely feminine; but for young designers it gives a kick. So it's good for them." How punk of him!
