Three Dimensional Kicks

These heels created from 3-D printing by Pauline Van Dongen are futuristically fabulous. Designed for her master’s thesis at ArtEZ in Arnhem, Netherlands, Van Dondgen titled her shoe line “Metamorphosis,” and the pieces were recently exhibited in “The Future of Fashion” show in Amsterdam. How exactly did these chaussures come to be? The heels are made of powdered nylon that has been gradually fused together by a computer guided laser. Consider us très impressed.

Carry-All Crazed!

How do we love our handbags? Let us count the ways. 1, 2, 3…50. The LA Times Magazine churned out their latest master list of their top 50 bag picks, and from the Hermès Birkin to the Louis Vuitton Speedy Bag, these goodies are positively covetous. Chic's fave? Maybe Givenchy's Nightengale, maybe Proenza's PS 1--and it's hard to argue with Chanel's 2.55 (why did this classic get the number 34 spot??). What about you, darlings?

Chic always finds it un peu head-scratching when a clothing line's ad campaign shows a model sans clothes--but then, the photog here is Terry Richardson, so judge accordingly. The scandalous snapper shot Abbey Lee Kershaw for the Japanese line Moussy, and au naturale or not, we can't help but love the gorgeous Aussie.

Want a sneak peek into Jeanne Lanvin's Paris abode? She may have lived there in the '20s, but the place hasn't changed a bit (luckily, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs has helped out). Decorated by Armand-Albert Rateau, the Art Deco-style maison is over-the-top luxe--Alber, we smell inspiration!

Tim Fishlock’s massive installation art chandelier brightens up our dreary Monday morning. Fishlock’s ode to the bulb is comprised of 1,243 light bulbs, which may seem like overkill, but only one of the hundreds of bulbs works. Practical? Perhaps not, but we'd still love to light up our abode with this striking fixture.

Things to Adore: On the Frontlines with Fargo

Bergdorf Goodman's take on the collections

We're not exactly sure how the Phenomenal Fargo manages to eek these little jewels out during the hellish collections schedule (is she collaging mid-telefono at Bice?), but thank goodness she is. The BG impresario has been culling these genius "On the Frontlines With Fargo" visual dispatches for Bergdorf Goodman's Facebook page (which has 20,661 fans). But a petit suggestion—don't these merit their own blog? Or perhaps, Linda, you'd prefer to send them directly to Chic? Just a thought...
