Step inside the doors of any Kiehl’s boutique and you'll be transported to a place where nature reigns. (Really.) So what better venue to fête the 40th anniversary of Earth Day than the brand's flagship store on Third Avenue? Friends including Malia Jones, Parker Posey, and Shiri Appleby stepped out to toast Kiehl’s limited edition Label Art Series designed by Julianne Moore, Jeff Koons, Pharrell Williams and Malia Jones, and 100% of Kiehl’s net profits up to $200,000 will benefit the Rainforest Alliance.

Guests sipped on berry cocktails, munched on tapenade and crostini, and swayed to everything from Motown to the Ting Tings selected by DJ Taryn Manning. The campaigns---featuring a grinning Koons spraying a bottle of Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist--provided the decor. All of the photos were taken by David LaChapelle. “He brought the campaign to life in such a fantastic way," said Kiehl’s president Chris Salgardo between spritzes of toning mist. “I spritz in the morning, before I moisturize.  I spritz in the afternoon when I need a lift, and I spritz in the evening after I wash my face. Three spritzes every day!”

"But in fact, the first thing I do annually is look at the list and think, Hmm, interesting, I'm not here. Then inevitably follows the Gee, what am I doing wrong? period. And is what I'm doing wrong sartorial, or social? Maybe it's not my clothes but the time I spelled Graydon Carter's name wrong. Graydon (there's no e in it) made the Hall of Fame himself in '98. I guess once you're in you can relax."---Glenn O'Brien, GQ's Style Guy, on how he votes for Vanity Fair's International Best Dressed List. Yes,  we worship the madras trench, mais...

Last night, Mickey Drexler and Caroline Kennedy hosted a cocktail party for Teach for America week at the J.Crew store on Fifth Avenue. Yes, Amy Astley; Frederick Fekkai, Andy Spade, and Ian Schrager showed to support the cause...but the evening's true revelation? J.Crew extends a 15% discount to all teachers (in store only, loves). That's it---we're going back to school. (And oh, Mr. Barrett---you were Mickey's favorite!)

Vertebrae Lamp Vertebrae Lamp

We admit, the Vertebrae Lamp created by South African artisans Gerhard Swart and Anthony Harris is jarring at first glance. But once you get over the initial, freaky feeling, then it’s really quite cool. It reminds us of the famous leg lamp in A Christmas Story, only, well…creepier. A tower of stacked ceramic ribs compose a 46" lamp. You’ve got to really love anatomy to add this light fixture to your living room; it’ll set you back a cool $2,8000. So much more than just a pile of bones! Available at Vivre.
