Chic recently came the the realization that as much as we resist all things technological (or just iPads, really), time marches on--and soon we'll be known as that batty old lady who uses a typewriter before we even turn 30. So: baby steps, darlings--that's how you need to ease into all this techy stuff. We're grateful for things that help us along, like this adorable iPhone telephone. Rotary phone styling, iPhone technology...now this we can handle. Allons-y to Etsy!

Blast From The Past: Glenn O'Brien Edition

Comments | | Print

Last night's screening of Tamra Davis' Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child, made us wish again that we could have been around for just one party at Warhol's factory. While that is unlikely, we did have our attention brought to one true gem of the era: TV Party, a public access television program hosted by Glenn O'Brien from 1978 to 1982. Luckily, we'll always have YouTube. Look at that baby face!

Who needs spring sandals when Loeffler Randall is doing cut-out booties? After all, you know how those filthy city streets can ruin a good pedicure. Chic is angling for these snake-embossed leather styles with a triangle heel. How perfect to wear with some slouchy Stella shorts, or perhaps a 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit...or even avec an ODLR faille cocktail frock (preferably in punch). Also: the low heels are 6-train friendly. We'll take them in two colors, thanks. THE DETAILS: $625, loefflerrandall.com

It's been on the tip of everyone's tongues--and making its way into everyone's wardrobes--since Pheobe Philo took the reins at Celine (don't try and tell us you're not on the shopping hunt for a beautifully simple camel coat). But whether it's the movement du jour or not, credit where credit is due: minimalism's been around for ages. Hapsical has rounded up the best of the best, whether it's fashion, architecture, home décor, or industrial design, and Chic can't get enough--particularly of this Hussein Chalayan look. Click Gallery for our top picks, and prepare to embrace less-is-more...as though you haven't already.

How glitzy is your vodka? Probably not nearly flashy enough. Grey Goose collaborated with Chopard to come up with this sparkling to new take on the vodka brand’s bottle. Presented at Cannes, the vodka will be available in Paris until the end of September. And at a lavish $465 a pop, there’s nothing grey about this goose. Cheers!

Platform pump, needle heel…while these gilded Lanvin chaussures appear lethal at first glance, they are actually quite practical. We promise! A rounded toe and adjustable ankle strap allows for hours of dancing. Merci, Alber. Plus, who can say no to a little python? THE DETAILS: Barneys, $1,735
