The Daily is widely known for accurately predicting the winners of the CFDA Awards---but how did we fare this year? Once again, we correctly predicted 4 out of the 6 victors. (In 2008, we guessed 5---pas mal.)  Who tripped us up? The men. Rag & Bone's David Neville and Marcus Wainwright were named menswear designers of the year, and Richard Chai was granted the same honor in the Swarovski category. Congrats, boys, we adore vous---but Daily favorites Michael Bastian and Patrik Ervell received better reviews all year long. (Not to mention sales-floor success.) Perhaps Chai, Neville and Wainwright have the ladies to thank. After all, a bulk of CFDA Awards voters just happens to be females who worship their women's collections. This bodes well for Bastian, who is introducing women's RTW at his Gant show in New York this September. We'll be watching!

How would we describe frocks at last night’s awards? Lukewarm. Without a seated dinner or fancy after-party (this is what you get, CFDA, for snubbing Calvin!), the black tie looks were too pale, too cautious. There were a few standouts, however---but Sarah Jessica Parker was not one of them.

So Behold! Chic's Ten Hautest CFDA Guests!
(click on Gallery to ogle)

1. Liya Kebede in Proenza Schouler. It's the right look on the right Time 100 honoree.
2. Amanda Hearst in Peter Som. She's not just a socialite, remember? She's an editor at Marie Claire!
3. Sasha Pivovarova in The Row. The Olsens should take her on every PA.
4. Julie Macklowe in Versace. It takes guts to rock an Italian label during a celebration of American fashion. Kudos!
5. Jessica Biel in Diane von Furstenberg. The only actress who vaguely managed to impress.
6. Dree Hemingway in Calvin Klein Collection. Bonus points for the shoes!
7. Tonne Goodman in Michael Kors. Now this is how black should be handled.
8. Hilary Rhoda in Rachel Roy. Easy, sumptuous, Grecian.
9. Hana Soukupova in Marchesa. A leggy Eastern European beauty in Marchesa isn't exactly groundbreaking, but it always works. Behold the miracles of Soul Cycle!
10. Linda Fargo in Thakoon. Confident? Oui. Flawless? Absoulement.

Does your luggage look like this? We have a feeling if you tried to tote this through the airport during your next weekend getaway, you’d be held up at security. Hermès unearthed some fabulous relics from its archives, and we adore the bespoke luggage made for Danish Out of Africa author Karen Blixen in the 1930s. The toffee-hued crocodile skin case features a bevy of boxes for spirits, cigars, notepaper, playing cards, jewelry, perfume, sewing kits, etc. All the travel essentials!
