Franco, At It Again

As if we needed another reason to love James Franco (we didn't). The actor has somehow managed to carve out his own niche as equal parts heartthrob and brainiac (See: playing a stoner in Pineapple Express and Allen Ginsberg in Howl; this "trailer" for Super Sad True Love Story, by his professor at Columbia, Gary Shteyngart; that cameo on General Hospital?). His latest "project" is just as hilarious: Soap at MoCA, a magazine conceived by Franco for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, is as much dishy soap rag as modern art project. If only we could get an entire subscription...

Agyness Deyn for V Agyness Deyn for V

Every once in a while, Chic can appreciate a fashion spread that's a little bit true to life---but this one has us scratching our heads. Alasdair McLellan shot Agyness Deyn looking just like Agyness Deyn for V's fall fashion issue, and we can only imagine that Beat Bolliger, who styled the shoot, must have had a ridiculously easy day. Click Gallery for the full spread, shot on St. Mark's Place in Aggy's real-life East Village neighborhood.

With his elegant stylings, it's not a complete surprise that design darling Jason Wu blogged that his favorite way to start a week is with a few fresh bouquets of flowers in his design studio. For nature newbies, Wu recommends his personal favorite, the Dutch Flower Line, to pick up some cream roses or draw inspiration from the array of fleurs exotiqueBonne idee!

Dior's Rose Beauty

As if we at The Daily needed one more reason to look forward to chillier temperatures to allow for draped cashmere knits and supple leather boots, we can now add forest-inspired jewelry to the list. Dior Joaillerie's recently launched "Bois de Rose" collection reminds us of childhood classic Beauty and the Beast: heroines stuck in cold stone castles in remote woods, no doubt adorned with beautiful trinkets passed on by a beastly lover obsessed with the life of a single rose. The rings and earrings, inspired by the thorns of a rose, meld yellow, white, or pink gold into sinewy bands and delicate hoops. A lover can even add diamonds for a look suited for a modern princess too. THE DETAILS: www.diorjoaillerie.com

Marc Jacobs for Harper's Bazaar Marc Jacobs for Harper's Bazaar

“I'm not Tom Ford in terms of the grooming and the knowledge of clothes and the precision and perfection of getting dressed. There's nothing I can wear in this ad that isn't going to look ridiculous. At one point, I tried jeans and a shirt, and it didn't work. So then Juergen said, 'Take off the clothes.' So I did, and that became the ad. I did feel good about the way I looked, so it was easy and—well, a guy looks better to me with no clothes on than with clothes! How’s that?” ---Marc Jacobs on his nude Bang ad, to Harper's Bazaar. It's not just the ad, though...what is it about Bazaar that makes Marc want to take it all off?

One look at the zesty lemon-colored, vintage design of this Globe-Trotter for J.Crew suitcase and your mind wanders to African safaris in the savanna and deep-diving off a yacht in the Greek Isles. Basically, a bag like this inspires travel of the most romantic and exotic sort. With its lightweight fiber body in a shocking shade of yellow and the leather straps and buckling reminiscient of steamboat days, it's not surprising to find out that the brand dates back to 1897 and has a royal clientele. Plus, this valise couldn't get more utilitarian: it has wheels and a pull handle. Even if you can't afford the travel aspect of the bag, remember that it could always just double as stylish storage for silk scarves and dainty lingerie. THE DETAILS: Globe-Trotter Centenary suitcase with wheels, $1,600, www.jcrew.com
