Romancing Miss Stone

Lara Stone's appeal is showing no signs of slowing down. The gap-toothed wonder stars in two major September issue editorials, Vogue's "Sweater Girl" (above) and W's "Color Me Beautiful," in which the Dutch super sports some serious cerulean eyeshadow and platinum locks (click Gallery for the full Color Me Beautiful spread). And both stories are shot by Mert & Marcus. Either way, the glossies are taking a decidedly less sexed-up approach to Stone, previously known for her enviable décolletage and killer curves. Now that she's a married lady, is she toning it down? Only October will tell...

Christine Staub in Blackbook Christine Staub in Blackbook

She may have been out of the fashion blogosphere's daily news recently (hey, when there's no fashion shows, there are no views to block with giant Dior hats), but you know she hasn't gone away: teen blogging sensation Tavi Gevinson's first magazine styling gig has just been released, starring none other than former Daily covergirl, 15-year-old Christine Staub. (We undersand Staub's mother Danielle has lost her Real Housewives of New Jersey crown, but we're thrilled to see Christine still on the scene.) Shot by Annelise Phillips for Blackbook's September issue, the images show Staub looking curiously (or not) Tavi-esque in Tavi-approved brands like Rodarte and Prada. See the gallery for all the images!

Admist the preview of their fall collection, Chic Report picked up a choice Swatch tidbit: watchmaker Swatch is running a promotion between August 14-29. Bring your Swatch (even it was the original counterpart to the '80s throwbacks they're rolling out again this season) to any of their retail stores nationwide, and Dr. Swatch will replace dead batteries, adjust straps, and buff out the face---all gratis! But attention: even though your old watches will be looking like new, we dare you to try walking out of there without eyeing or buying one of the black oversized automatics...

Sure, devotion to fashion takes serious dedication. (See: stilettos, corsets, et cetera.) But the future owners of these shoes really have our respect. They're five and a half inches high, complete with a sturdy wedge, over-the-knee height, and rows upon rows of metal studs. We can only imagine how heavy they must be, but if you're game, walk tall, darlings! THE DETAILS: Thomas Wylde knee-high stud boots, $2,875, www.aloharag.com
