Sonia Yoon and Ben Channing Clyburn's Bensoni line has always been a go-to for utter adorable-ness, so when we heard this season was about cybergoths, we had to ask.

Tell us about the Spring collection!
Sonia: “We’re really excited to show this collection, because we feel like it’s our best yet. The collection is really about our society today and how people are all into being into nature and loving mother earth and being a part of the green moment and at the same time our world is on this crazy technology bullet train, and everyone’s digitally obsessed. And so we wanted to tell the story about this girl who is really a little bit of both. She’s hippie and bohemian, yet she’s modern and she’s on this acid trip into the future.

What era are you from, personally?
Sonia: I’ve gone through different phases in my life. I’ve been them all. And the girl we’re designing for is bohemian and relaxed during the day, and at night she kind of goes berserk as this cybergoth girl.

Are you tech savvy or luddites?
Ben: We’re totally tech savvy, definitely.
Sonia: Well, Ben more so is always on his Blackberry! I think that’s the case with a lot of people, and we are definitely supportive of the digital era. We’re all for it. We actually want it to go faster!

A Moment With...Daniel Boulud

The restauranteur's sublime Bar Boulud is located just feet from Lincoln Center. Might we suggest a working lunch between shows?

So Daniel, how did you spend your summer?
Every August I go home to Lyon for a while to see my family—but mostly to cook in the wood-burning oven on my parent’s farm. Wish I could have one back here in New York!

We hear you recently took an inaugural trip to Tennessee to visit Blackberry Farm. How did you like the South?
I learned that southern hospitality is not a myth. This was my first time in Tennessee. If I could, I’d go back to Blackberry Farm every weekend. It’s definitely the most charming, romantic, and elegant spot in the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s also the only place I’ve ever been in the Great Smoky Mountains.

What are your plans for Fashion Week?
Attend a few shows—definitely Vivienne Tam’s—and watch the models cross Broadway to Bar Boulud. If we can get ABT ballerinas to eat boudin blanc, maybe we can get some Fashion Week models to sip Mâcon?

What’s on deck at Bar Boulud?
We’re opening a new grilling-themed restaurant next door this coming February. There will also be a retail shop, where you can buy our house-made charcuterie, breads, and pastries, as well as great cheeses, soups, sandwiches, and salads to go.

...In Richard Chai Love's front row!

You carved out time for Richard! Any time left over to catch another show?
I'm only making it out to Richard's shows in terms of catching other shows. I always just do Richard’s. He is my dear friend, so I move mountains to try and get here!

How are you feeling?

I feel everything, a mix of feelings and I can't really define it. It’s the eleventh inning, to use sports terminology.

Are you a baseball fan?
Nope, not really. But I'm a huge tennis fan.

Did you catch any of the US Open?

I was supposed to go this last Sunday, but then I had to go do fittings, and fashion got in the way. I do try and catch it late, late in the evening and get myself up to speed.

A Barbra Moment with The Ruffians

Chic caught up with Ruffian's Brian Wolk and Claude Morais before their Spring 2011 show yesterday and chatted Barbra, Marlene, history lessons, and lots of family love...

How are you guys feeling this morning?
BW: Hold on one second, I need to switch sides; we always stand next to each other on the same side during interviews!
CM: [laughs] Okay, Barbra!

Are you having a Barbra moment today?
CM: I love her dearly, but no, not today.
BW: We do have really serious nails for the collection, which is kind of Barbra.
CM: Yes, she would probably wear it. We love her for her nails.
BW: I’d say I’m having a Marlene Dietrich moment, surrounded by army boys.

And there is a certain military element to the collection…
BW: It’s kind of a serious collection, in a way. It was inspired by a woman named Susan Travers, and she was the only woman ever to be in the French Foreign Legion. What’s really interesting is that she was the daughter of an English navy admiral and she grew up in the south of France. She ending up being a diplomat and the entire collection is inspired by this idea of diplomacy. It’s her dream wardrobe, as we imagined it. So there are elements of military, but in a diplomatic way, as opposed to an army way.
CM: It’s very modern, and it’s very now. This collection, more than ever, we wanted to give real clothes for real women, for the market, for everyone, for our buyers, for our friends.

The Susan Travers story is a bit of a history lesson!
BW: That’s a Ruffian show for you! You’ve got to learn something when you sit in the front row, otherwise, what’s the point?

What grade did you get in history class?
BW: My father was a history professor, actually. I’ve always been a complete history buff, and Claude and I are both research fanatics.
CM: A+! A+ for me in history. I’ve been traveling all my life, and so history and geography has always been a passion.

[Mrs. Wolk interjects] BW: Mom, we’re actually doing an interview right now. [Mrs. Wolk apologizes and walks away, laughing, “Oh okay, I’ll get out of here!"]

Your mom always supports you guys.
CM: Oh yes, and Brian’s father actually always shoots all our shows in the photo pit.
BW: Totally, that’s where he loves to be to get the best shot. My family is like a Woody Allen movie, essentially.

How diplomatic are you?
[both in unison] Very diplomatic!
BW: Diplomacy is getting someone to wear what you want them to wear.
