It’s not every day that Ian Schrager opens up a Hawaiian property. A 353-room Waikiki EDITION Hotel opened over the weekend with plenty of sunsets, luau BBQs, and a Hawaiian-themed dinner at Morimoto Waikiki that attracted the likes of Amber Valletta, Christina Aguilera, Kirsty Hume, Rashida Jones, and Bijou Phillips. It must have been hard to refuse a trip to Waikiki after Schrager’s success with properties like the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York and the Delano and Mondrian in Miami. Also, quelle view!

We think instead he could just take a few tips from his uncanny lookalike, the always level-headed Michael Kors. (On another note: Michael, we have the perfect Halloween costume for vous...)

Attention, artsy types and Hermès lovers alike: a new series of the iconic silk scarves, created in collaboration with French artist Daniel Buren, launches tomorrow as part of the brand's second edition of ‘carré d’artiste’. (In 2008, Hermès collaborated with Josef Albers for a series called Homage to the Square). Buren's take? Each of his 365 scarves, edged in bright, graphic striped borders, feature silk prints based on photgraphs taken by Buren throughout his various travels. The scarves hit Hermès stores tomorrow (along with an accompanying commemorative book)---we'd suggest lining up maintenant!
