Lookalikes of The Daily: Lady In Red Edition

Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway's November Vogue cover: it's not just the red strapless dresses that make these two look uncannily alike. Is it the eyebrows? The updos? The fact that they're both Rachel Zoe clients? (Remember how they all seemed to morph into each other a few years ago?) Either way, Mendes has yet to receive a Vogue cover honor---but maybe we could consider this her audition.

Happy Heidi Holidays

Heidi Klum has indeed returned as the face of Ann Taylor, and Chic caught up with Rankin, who shot the Holiday 2010 ad campaign. “I first met Heidi on a shoot for Italian GQ 7 years ago. She’s like this whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm,” explained the photographer. “The idea behind the Ann Taylor shoot was all about bringing out Heidi's natural bubbly personality and showing her looking great wearing Ann Taylor in a festive mood for the holiday season. I loved the idea of Heidi blowing glitter; it was a great way to tie in that Christmassy aesthetic. We had a lot of laughs throughout the shoot. The gold glitter is still turning up in my equipment, even today!”

Lovely Linda

What were you doing at age 15? Linda Vojtova, like so many superstars (Gisele, Karolina Kurkova, and Chanel Iman come to mind), was already hitting the runways and taking Easy Jets between Milan and Paris. It's hard to believe, then, that the 25-year-old beauty has now worked for a solid decade. To celebrate the occasion, ARC NY and One Model Management threw the Czech beauty a little soirée at Trump SoHo to celebrate the big date. (Vojtova meant business during the fête, donning the mighty powerful Chanel gun heels.) But the celebration isn't over: for February, her agents are putting together a nice little exhibit to highlight some of her best editorial and ad work.

Tuesday night, Saks unveiled a surprisingly new window on its 49th Street side, featuring not exactly household name designers but aspiring ones. About 30 students from the High School of Fashion Industries sketched bag prototypes for Italian brand Allegri, and a few were lucky enough to have their designs both made and featured in Saks' windows. To celebrate, a slew of fash-insiders including model host Michelle Alves and Allegri's Gian Maria Argentini mingled with the budding designers while indulging in mini grilled cheeses and Svedka lemonade-esque cocktails. Argentini--donning a Fall 2011 protype suit jacket himself--says Allegri will contine to partner with the school on future projects. "After being in this business so long, it's nice to have a fresh view," he explained. In fact, last year's partnership produced rain gear, including boots and umbrellas that are currently available in stores. Check out the window for yourself and pop up to the Allegri department---through October 26, 15% of sales from the Fall 2010 Collections will be donated to the school. Pay fashion forward!

Stylelikeu just posted a fabulous interview---well, sort of---with the all white-sporting artist Terence Koh. The only problem? The man doesn't speak. During a self-imposed vow of silence (anyone know if he's talking again?), Koh communicated with paper and pencil, "discussing" everything from the power of gesture to Grace Coddington and Edward Enninful to how going to the dentist is like "a little death." Full video above!

Sally Singer Dishes On...Her Mani Routine?

Chic recently stumbled across Into The Gloss, an excellent new beauty blog from Emily Weiss (yes, the former Teen Voguette featured on The Hills back in ’07), and we’re intrigued, most notably by Weiss’ Q&A with Sally Singer about her beauty routine. Singer does champion the unfussy, fresh-faced look, but when it comes to her nails, there’s no holding back. She tells Weiss, “I know that even my obsession with Japanese manicures changed the way I thought about my hands, and changed the way I thought about myself when I started doing it. You can get hundreds of these manicures and it won’t come up to the cost of a Celine bag.” Not by Chic's calculations...Sally, where are you buying your Celine bags?
