It's a little late for the back-to-school crowd, but these just popped up at Opening Ceremony and it's hard to resist. In honor of the 2010 New York Art Book Fair, artists(/writers/directors) Miranda July, Spike Jonze, Marcel Dzama, Geoff McFetridge, and Mitch Epstein have created these book covers (complete with wrapping instructions for those whose actual school days are far behind them). Protect your favorite tomes and be oh-so-stylish doing it? Only at OC. THE DETAILS: Opening Ceremony x NYABF book covers, $25 (for set of 5), www.openingceremony.us

Enter the Baby Chicster

If you spent a good amount of time aww-ing over Stella McCartney's new kids' line (don't worry, loves, we did too), just wait until you see this. Chic's new favorite blog, F*ck Yeah Menswear---which takes Sartorialist-esque images and mocks them in a hilariously spot-on series of one-liners---is tacking the baby chicster today. A sampling, before you add it to your favorites:

 My kid gets wide eyed.

When we discuss the merits of white jeans in winter.

Monochromatic palettes.

And well worn DB’s in exclusive colorways.

We took him out of school 2 years ago.

So he could blog full time.

His diffusion line for Heelys hits Target next month.

Apparently it’s Jil inspired.

I’ve only seen the sketches.

Elber Abez...Qui?

You wouldn't call Karl Carl, would you? Or Marc Mark? So when we caught this odd (to say the least) interpretation of Lanvin genius Alber Elbaz's name over at The Guardian, we couldn't let it go. Screengrab above.

You're forgiven, loves, if you're not sure what this goliath-looking gold creation even is. (Personally, we can't help but spot a resemblance to gilded wedges of Swiss cheese---but maybe that's just nous.) In fact, it's a glam bit of bling: the Venuz bracelet by designer Paula Mendoza, complete with 24 karat gold vermeil pieces dotted with holes and puzzle pieced together with gold rings. Quelle conversation piece! THE DETAILS: Paula Mendoza Gold Venuz bracelet, $1,150, www.vivre.com

"While it was not entirely clear whether [Vera Wang] was being serious or sarcastic — who exactly would be shocked these days to hear that business stinks? — it was indeed the case on Tuesday evening at a party for the 100th anniversary of Women’s Wear Daily, the fashion newspaper, that Ms. Wang was not drinking the fashion Kool-Aid. In fact, she appeared perplexed when a waiter in white jacket at the Cipriani event space on 42nd Street attempted, unsuccessfully, to steer her toward a cup of pink fruit punch poured from a water cooler that was inexplicably planted in the middle of the room and printed with the words Drink the WWD Kool-Aid.'"—Eric Wilson in today's Times.

THR is MIA!

Chic spent most of the morning attempting---in vain---to track down a hard copy of the recently-relaunched The Hollywood Reporter. According to its own website, THR issues will be sold at Barnes & Noble locations nationwide, but the two we checked in Manhattan didn't have it. A call to Richard Beckman's office was equally fruitless; their issues were stuck in traffic. Meanwhile, we get this invitation to subscribe ("It's time there is an entertainment magazine...). Janice, we could use some freelance copyediting work...call us!
