Yes, it's that time again. The holidays are over—maybe not the poundage though! The Fash Week circuit is upon us—Berlin is next week, darhlinks! And Chic is getting the latest inside scoops for toning up before taking the front row. This one's just in from our friends at the Chic-quinox. Loving those long, lean lines you get from yoga? Stay dedicated because a few classes here or there won't get you anywhere. "I see so many people just pop into yoga classes once in a while but they could never get to the arm balance stage because they don't do the work," says Lashaun Dale, national creative manager of group fitness. "You gotta do the work. People are now starting to become more interested in the esoteric part of yoga and understanding that they can’t get to the higher level without the basics. It’s about commitment. When you commit, you can have that kind of magic on the mat." Need inspiration? Check out 15 year vet and Equinox yoga instructor Briohny Smyth's moves. Cirque worthy and surely chic!

Here's a look at 28 year-old Agyness Deyn as Flo, a "strong-minded stipper" in the upcoming remake of Pusher. She recently told The Evening Standard: "When I did Pusher in the summer, it was like: this is what I'm supposed to be doing. I just loved it so much and it excites me to be able to do it. I want to do it as much as posible--film, theatre, everything." Deyn makes her West End debut next month, playing promiscuous "free spirit" Paula in The Leisure Society. Break a leg, Aggy!

Last night, Diane Kruger arrived at the 17th Annual Critics Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles in a gorgeous Prada gown from Spring 2012. Heaven! We're also so impressed that her lipstick and clutch match the pink on the step and repeat. Now that is attention to detail! Well played, love.

Three cheers for The Beverly Room! Founder Mauri Weakley is back post-holidays with a trove of poppy-colored treasures. Without further ado!

Winter and her 20 degree temperatures has finally arrived in New York. I, however, keep jetting away--via day dream--to lands of sand and sun, cabanas and coconuts, and large sweeping bodies of water. Perhaps my daydreams (and the resort collections!) are influencing my vintage purchases which seem to increasingly consist of these beautiful, bright handmade ethnic pieces.

Embroidery? Check. Volume? Check. Ruffles? Check. Flowers? Check. Strange little pictorial scenes? Err...check. All so feminine and each has their own unique story to tell. After all, they did belong to another woman before they came into my life, and will soon be passed on to another.

This is perhaps one of the biggest draws to vintage for me, and I assume to many who collect. Imagining the woman who wore this before you: who she was, what she did, where she traveled. In fact, traveling is one of the most fascinating things about previous generations, and more importantly how and what they bought and brought back with them when they did. They went to Japan and came back with authentic kimonos, to Italy for beautiful Italian leather goods, and to Mexico for hand-embroidered blouses. Often times I get to see a woman's collection as a whole, and it always warms my heart to see these one-off pieces--like little punctuations, bought on honeymoons, family vacations, and business trips around the world.

This week I bring you several pieces from a well-traveled woman with an inspiring story to tell. A woman who moved to New York City from Atlanta at the age of 85 after her husband passed. She sold her house and bought an apartment in Manhattan. She said to me in her thick deep southern drawl, "I'd always dreamed of moving to New York, and figured what the hell. There's only one life to live and if I'm on my way out, I might as well go out with a bang." Needless to say, I LOVED her, and what a wonderful story to tell!

To shop the entire collection online, go to TheBeverlyRoom.com or visit Mauri at The Beverly Room inside the Garage on 25th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues every Saturday and Sunday.

Retailer Report: With Neapolitan's Kelly Golden

Keep cozy in Prada! Keep cozy in Prada!

Neapolitan owner Kelly Golden is back with her best bets to keep you warm and stylish during the brutal months of winter.

"Colder temperatures don’t mean having to sacrifice style. Invest in a coat that’s modern yet functional. Moncler and Prada consistently make chic down coats and Ferragamo had some great ones this season, as well. Etro showed long coats with removable fur collars, which become perfect for wearing casual or dressed-up. Add life to a darker coat with a colorful scarf. While cashmere scarves are always cozy, silk scarves will keep you warm too. Loewe and Dior make vivid-colored classic shapes or you can opt for a trendy McQueen version.  For another idea, skip the necklace and tie a scarf over a dress or sweater. For snowy weather, Chloe’s rubber bottom wedge boots are ideal. The buckle detail and yellow stitching add stylish elements and the rubber soles provide traction.  You can also add rubber to the bottom of your favorite boots to improve their life during winter. Most of us love leather gloves. This year we saw an update with leather and knit combinations, which are some of my favorites. Hopefully, these tips will help brighten your mood during these dreary months!"
