The Thing About Twentysomethings
While Chic was on the scene at the Cinema Society's Happythankyoumoreplease screening on Wednesday night, the talk was all about the fabulous, confusing, constantly in flux experience of being a twentysomething. Everyone - mostly clad in togs by Tommy Hilfiger, the evening's host - had a couple words of wisdom to dole out about the highs and lows of being a pretty young thing! And, of course, some thoughts on the befallen Galliano situation.
What if twentysomethings ran the world?
Gabourey Sidibe: Don't we?
Russell Simmons: Oh, gosh. That's all I can say.
Adrien Grenier: I don’t think they’re equipped to. I think they’re too idealistic.
Pablo Schreiber: We wouldn’t have to worry about social security, so we’d get rid of it. I guess we’re doing that already. But there’d be a lot of insecurity and fear, and the world would be in constant transition.
Would you recommend spending your twenties in New York?
Gabourey Sidibe: I grew up here, but I think anyone else not from New York that chooses to be here is really brave.
Adrien Grenier: I would, of course. Except, don’t come. But, come. Stay away! The city is ours.
What are you most cynical about?
Josh Radnor: People’s cynicism.
Pablo Schreiber: I’m cynical about red carpets. But the one at Landmark Sunshine isn’t red, so we’re okay. Now that I have a child, cynicism seems so toxic. It’s important to be optimistic once you become a parent.
What are your thoughts on everything happening with John Galliano?
Malin Akerman: I have no idea. What’s happening?
Juliet Godreche: I’m Jewish, so I guess I’m going to be very aggressive in response!
Zoe Kazan: It’s so awful. I know it’s not fashionable to say I feel bad for him, but he is a very talented man. His opinions are awful and I’m glad people are outraged but I do feel a bit of compassion for him all the same.

Pay Up! Courtney Love Settles Suit
At the behest of her lawyer, Courtney Love dug deep ($430,000 deep!) this morning to squelch the defamation lawsuit brought against her by fashion designer, and one-time devotee, Dawn Simorangkir. The case has been stewing since 2009 when Love took to her Twitter for some scandalous mudslinging. "I am glad to have this behind us. I have always considered Dawn to be a talented designer. I am sorry for what happened. I sincerely wish her the best," the Hole frontwoman said in a public statement. That's the spirit, Love!
