Julianne Moore Parties With DuJour
Earlier this week, DuJour threw a bash for its summer issue at Tommy Bahama's Marlin Bar. The woman of the eve? Flame-tressed cover gal Julianne Moore. (Also popping by: Thakoon Panichgul.) Check out the issue on newsstands through August 26, or online. As a teaser: We dig Moore's words of wisdom about finding parts for older actresses... "I do think that there’s interesting stuff out there, and it’s not anybody’s job to find it for me but mine. You’re always responsible for trying to figure out what to do with your own career.”

Madison Avenue welcomed a new kid to the block last night! The VC Signature store opened its doors with a party hosted by Vince and Louise Camuto along with Adriana Lima. "VC Signature is top of the line and we wanted to give this a presence," Vince told us during the event. "It's doing extremely well. Women are more savvy today than ever before. They know what they want!" DJ Chelsea Leyland spun for guests including Tory Burch, DuJour's Keith Pollock, People StyleWatch's Susan Kaufman, Lindsay Ellingson, and Laura Eastwood. "It's an honor to be here," Lima told us. "I'm such a big fan of the brand and I finally got a chance to meet Vince for the first time!" Carven Goes Bananas
Carven's creative director Guillaume Henry has collaborated with Ancient Greek Sandals' Christina Martini on shoes for their Spring/Summer resort collection with a very amusing inspiration. The duo has designed a gladiator sandal inspired by...bananas. (There are no words to express the joy we feels when writing sentences like that.) "I thought it would be formidable if the woman could wear the lightest stylish shoes: a sandal that would incarnate the story and the spirit of the collection whilst being comfortable," Henry explains. "I would not have imagined collaborating with any other house than Ancient Greek Sandals. This season, the gladiator sandals become the banana sandals! To be continued…" Apples? Oranges? Grapes?

Jonathan Newhouse Supports The Return Of Galliano
Conde Nast International's chairman and chief Jonathan Newhouse has come out in support of John Galliano, telling Vogue UK that they've developed a tight friendship since that little incident a few years ago. "After he left Christian Dior and went into recovery from his illness, our relationship deepened and became a friendship," he explains. "I gave him books about the Holocaust and Jewish history and opened some doors to the Jewish community. I introduced him to Jewish leaders and a rabbi, Rabbi Barry Marcus from Central Synagogue, with whom he established a dialogue. We even attended synagogue together. I have tried to be a kind of guide and a source of support. I believe in John." He also believes that Galliano can make a comeback in the industry: "An experience like the one John has lived makes a person stronger, wiser and more aware. I have no doubt that he can return to top form. He is in his early fifties, a time of life when many fashion designers produce outstanding work."
