For those of you holding on to the hope that John Galliano would end up working with Oscar de la Renta, Page Six-er Emily Smith is reporting that it's not going to happen. "It is categorically not happening," the source told them. "Oscar de la Renta is still looking for a new creative director." As we're sure you've heard by now, Galliano was fired by Dior in 2011 after making anti-semetic comments and given a temporary residence with de la Renta, which many assumed was a sign that he'd be joining the brand full time. He was announced as the costume designer for Stephen Fry's revival of The Importance of Being Earnest set to open in the UK this Fall.

Last eve, West Hollywood's The London Rooftop hosted a celebration for Zooey Deschanel's new collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. Vanity Fair's Krista Smith and the brand welcomed Malin Ackerman, Ally Hilfiger, Jennifer Morrison, Ari Gaynor, Louise Roe, Dee and Tommy Hilfiger, and, of course, the girl of the hour, Deschanel. "To Tommy, From Zooey" is a capsule collection of 16 dresses plus accessories, and is available today on macys.com and tommy.com. Check the cute collab out on April 14th in select Macy's and Tommy Hilfiger stores.

Everything old is new again! Michelle Williams fronts Louis Vuitton's new campaign showing off their newest must have bag, the Lockit. They've revived the bag, first created in 1958, after it was rediscovered in the brand's archives. The bag features a padlock on the side, hence the Lockit name. Williams was shot for the brand by Peter Lindbergh and styled by Carine Roitfeld. She's currently on Broadway playing Sally Bowles in the revivial of Cabaret at Studio 54.

"It is often said that the greatest inspiration is found in your front lawn, but when your front lawn is a concrete jungle, it’s sometimes nice to escape to your backyard. Lucky enough for us Ruffians, our backyard is America, and that boundless source inspiration from sea to shining sea is what spurred us to pack our bags and set off on a trans-continental journey. More than ever, we felt a deep yearning to connect to the soil of our great country, yet we simultaneously wanted to share our trip via the internet with our followers and fans through Instagram and La Vie en Ruffian. So hop in the backseat of our Lexus RX450-H and join us as we cross the country, staying with our friends at W Hotels!
The evening before we embarked on our journey we checked into the W Union Square to bid adieu to our great city. Our top floor room, located directly under the crimson-lit W Sign, had sweeping views of downtown. We decided to take an evening stroll and visit our friend Jean Marc Houmard at his restaurant Acme, where we enjoyed an impromptu dinner and a reunion show of the great chanteuses from the legendary Bar d’ot. The serenade made for the perfect send-off on our final night in the city.
The next morning, with our Hasselblad camera in hand to document all, we picked up our Lexus, programmed the GPS, and headed south to our nation’s capital. A quick five hours later, and less than a tank of gas in our hybrid goddess, we arrived in this stately city to a symphony of cherry blossoms. From the moment we strolled into the grand lobby of The Washington D.C. W Hotel we we were impressed with the aesthetic balance between classical and youthful, a harmony we strive for in our work as well. The black and white checkered marble floor, juxtaposed with the richly colored deco-inspired furniture immediately confirmed we were in the chicest accommodations that D.C. has to offer. After some frolicking about near the White House, we stopped by our room, slipped into our dinner jackets and headed to J&G Steakhouse, where we shared a Cotes de Boeuf for two seared to mouth-watering perfection. Surrounded by dignitaries in the uber-chic dining room, we toasted our French wine in the spirit of diplomacy.
Then, we set off to the Capital the next morning for a tour of the Dome, Senate, and House Chambers. Crossing the street, we popped over to The Supreme Court where we made a majority decision to visit the Library of Congress. We continued our walking tour down the mall to check out the incredible photographs of Garry Winogrand at The National Gallery, and followed with a tour around the Washington Monument, finally ending our afternoon on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. That evening, we slipped into our tuxedos and headed to The Kennedy Center to see our friend Harrison Ball of The New York City Ballet give a triumphant performance in George Balanchine’s Jewels. This was truly the highlight of the day, and our post-performance backstage tour will always be a precious memory. That evening we enjoyed a midnight supper at P.O.V., the rooftop restaurant /lounge at The W with commanding views of all of Washington, a perfect closure to our Ruffian state visit.
At the crack of dawn the next morning we got back in our Lexus Ruffian-Mobile and headed south towards Atlanta, the next stop on our tour. W Atlanta Midtown insider Byron Barkley greeted us at the front door, with margaritas in hand, displaying the utmost in southern hospitality. The scene in the lobby was festive, but nothing could prepare us for the majesty of our Wow suite: 1,600 square feet of pure glamour. Not only did we have multiple bathrooms, a treat for any New Yorker, but a dining room that sat 10, a stocked bar, a glorious bedroom with a freestanding tub and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city. We arrived in heaven and never wanted to leave, but duty called and we headed out to try the hottest restaurant in Buckhead: Watershed, owned by Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls. It's a must-dine for anyone seeking authentic farm-to-table nouvelle Southern cuisine.
After hosting a breakfast in our suite’s dining room for The Atlantan magazine editor-in-chief Stephanie Davis Smith the next morning, we headed out for a turn around the grounds of Piedmont Park (the Central Park of Atlanta), followed by a private tour of The High Museum. That evening, W Atlanta Midtown marketing director Angel Touwsma arranged for an intimate cocktail event in our suite during which we presented our Fall 2014 Collection to a group of Atlanta’s most preeminent bloggers. Seated around the settees in the living room, we convivially chatted and were thrilled to share a common dialogue in the most international of languages-- fashion.

Today’s unexpected collaboration comes to us courtesy of Supreme New York and Brooks Brothers. The cult-fave skate label and the Wall Street-apropos suit brand joined forces to design a seersucker blazer and a pair of coordinating pants, which will be sold solely at Supreme. The cut of the suit is based on Brooks Brother’s Fitzgerald style, but it'll be further spruced up with a black and white star lining. If you’d like to scoop up a suit of your own, it’s (almost) time to start lining up: the pieces will hit stores sometime in May.

The seasonal tulle takeover has begun, New Yorkers, as this season’s bridal shows kick off today. To ring in the slew of exquisite white frocks and veils galore that we’ll be checking out over the next few days, we chatted up the co-founders of clever bridesmaid-centric site Brideside, Nicole Staple and Sonali Lamba. The duo has made a chic business out of an idea hatched in B-school a few years ago. Find out how they’re innovating the often-staid, frequently drama-filled orbit of bridesmaid dresses, accessories, and much more. How did Brideside come about?
Sonali Lamba: Nicole and I lived as weekend wedding warriors during, and leading up to, business school. I had 14 bridesmaids in my own wedding, and Nicole spent summers traveling to and from her bridesmaid duties. We experienced firsthand, on many occasions, the time, frustration, and energy that went into the process of coordinating a bridesmaid dress. We knew there had to be a better way.
Nicole Staple: As classmates at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, we commiserated over this process. We then devoted ourselves to a concept that delivers the personal boutique experience at home and online. By the time we graduated in June 2012, we had incubated Brideside within the walls of Kellogg.
How did your own bridesmaid experiences help you scheme up Brideside?
Sonali: I was in my sister-in-law’s wedding along with her best friend who had literally just had a baby. Our fit preferences couldn’t have been more different! The bride took on the role of selecting styles that would work for both of us. Since I didn’t know the other bridesmaid well at the time, it was awkward for us to communicate about style and our insecurities. When building Brideside, it was critical to have informed stylists to assist the bride and her friends.
Did you ever expect to work on a fashion project?
Sonali: I’ve always considered myself a fashion blog junkie. [Fashion] is an extension of myself...Though I never imagined making a career of it!
Nicole: I wouldn’t have expected to graduate from business school to start a company in fashion—and certainly not bridal. But I’ve loved the challenge of innovating a very traditional process that I’ve been through so many times myself.
What does Brideside offer that no one else in the bridal biz is doing right now?
Nicole: While we’ve seen innovation in a variety of sectors of the wedding industry, from online registries to planning apps, the bridal party has largely remained untouched. Brideside delivers the coveted bridal boutique experience in the comfort of our shoppers’ own homes.
