Who Is Fausto Puglisi?
The Telegraph did a little detective work and discovered Fausto Puglisi, who is the man behind some of Madonna's costumes for her current MDNA tour (Jean Paul Gaultier is responsible for most), and has seen Beyoncé, Britney, and Anna Dello Russo in his dazzling creations. Well, hello! A few bites from their chat with him!
On Anna Dello Russo: "She's my baby. She's a rock star. She launched my style - the Roman gladiator style."
On being compared to Versace: "Gianni Versace is my maestro. I grew up in the eighties, and Gianni was the king. What can I say? I'm not able to judge myself, but I'm obsessed by color, beauty, being sexy, and healthy. This is connected to my Mediterranean tradition."
On dressing Madonna: "At the MTV Europe Music Awards in Stockholm [in 2000], Madonna wore an amazing Dolce & Gabbana red cowboy suit, and I designed bling-bling Swarovski accessories for her. I can't forget all the work I did by hand, putting hundreds of crystals and beads on while flying from Rome to New York. The [flight attendants] were looking at me like I was ET."
On who he wants to dress next: "I don't get obsessed by celebrity… I love so many women… but what about Julius Caesar?"
