It wasn't all spas and Korean food for Marie Claire's Kyle Anderson this weekend (although the latter was definitely enjoyed). The accessories director started off his weekend strong with a girl's night out until the most unfortunate of events occurred...Total weekend tally: $278.59. Total spending since November 2011: $122,125.29
After a long workweek my two faves, Bryanboy and Rumi Neely, were back in town after spending a few extra weeks in Europe following fashion week. The three of us decided to meet for dinner for a girl’s night out. It was only fitting that we went to Blue Ribbon Sushi. While waiting for half an hour, we grabbed a cocktail across the street and then we gorged on tons of sushi; we split the bill. Bryan suggested we go to a straight club, but it was pretty freaky so we left. Rumi went home and Bryan and I may or may not have gone to XL to watch a drag show. Then we took a taxi to the Boom Boom Room, where we enjoyed drinks until around 5 a.m.-(ish). Randomly, I twisted my ankle walking UP the stairs on our way out, which I thought was no big deal…
SUSHI, BLUE RIBBON: $100
COCKTAILS, BOOM BOOM ROOM: $100
…until I woke up and my left foot was in such serious pain that I couldn’t walk. (Picture me crawling around the house.) My BF made me breakfast and then I hobbled to my office where I got a Starbucks coffee and a salad. As I continued my day at the office, my foot kept getting more swollen, so my BF picked me up in a taxi. We ate dinner in Korea Town and then split a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. Between my foot and watching Chernobyl Diaries, I was freaked out and decided to go to bed.
COFFEE, STARBUCKS: $2.50
DINNER: $45 (EACH)
ICE CREAM, BEN AND JERRY’S: $4.50
CHERNOBYL DIARIES, HBO: $5.99
I woke up on Sunday still swollen and decided it was best to stay in bed so my BF cooked me breakfast and lunch, and then bought me Greek food for dinner. Even while resting and watching reality TV, my foot kept getting worse.
Since my foot wasn’t any better, I finally decided it was time to go for an X-ray. While I know it isn’t broken, I am still waiting for a professional diagnosis. Maybe it’s torn or twisted or possibly it's just my old age?
