By now you've probably heard of the China newspaper that discovered that Vera Wang's Shanghai bridal boutique was found charging customers for a 90 minute try-on session. Nice little PR headache for the Vera Wang gang. It's all settled now, folks. Vera is abolishing appointment fees in all stores. Why did it even exist in the first place? A staffer tells WWD that high school kids who weren't serious about wedding dress shopping (we should hope not!) were coming in to try them on for kicks so the fees were implemented to keep out the wrong customers. Fair enough.
