Missed out on the couture-ogling antics in Paris this past week? Relive the glam bash vicariously from the front lines with Decades' Cameron Silver...

"It may have been the fourth of July last night in Paris, but the only fireworks going off at Valentino's post-couture Moonlight Drinks and Dancing party were a bevy of international socials like Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis and Alexia Niedzielski lighting up the night in their embroidered finery. Hosted by the dynamite design duo of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild was transformed into a candlelit lounge and disco hours after the Couture show.  This former residence of Adele Rothschild was bequeathed to the French government in 1922 when Madame disinherited her only child Helene for marrying outside the Jewish faith. If these walls could talk. And talk they did...

I caught up with the fabulous Brant boys. Headed to Sicily on Monday, Harry sported an amazing antique jacket that wouldn't be out of place in a bull ring, with its bronze embroidery and toreador's silhouette. Although he vacillated on his sartorial choice and confessed to having a back up jacket in the car outside, I encouraged him to go bold. After all, it was the end of Couture and the fourth of July! It was great to see my L.A. homegirls Kathy and Nicky Hilton, and New Yorkers like Lauren Remington Platt, Project Runway Season Three's Kayne Gillapsie, and Jessica Stam. Earlier in the week, Jessica walked for Armani and Ulyana Sergeenko, the latter of whom made a very triumphant Couture debut. Taking a front row seat at the Valentino show, Stam said she practically stood at attention as each look passed by and her head turned to follow the girls in navy blue, golden brocade, and signature red chiffon pleated gowns. As for her post-Couture plans, 'I think I will have an extra dessert.' Hey, it's not easy being sample size.

The dancing went on until 4 a.m., but Tim Blanks got the party started, although he cracked, 'there's nothing that clears a dance floor faster than a middle aged man making a food of himself.' Au contraire, Blanks can boogie. Mother Nature then forced the partiers from al fresco to covered disco, but proud papa Carlos Souza had his DJ sons Anthony and Sean spinning the best tunes, so guests were dripping wet regardless.

The post-Couture Valentino fête has become a bit of a tradition. With business expanding rapidly and talk of new stores around the world, I suggest we follow Team Valentino to midnight madness in myriad time zones. After all, midnight blue is the color the season!"
