Tonchi, Outlaw?
At first we thought it was an April Fool's Day joke, but apparently c'est vrai: Gawker reports that Stefano Tonchi stood trial today in Beverly Hills for a DUI. The soon-to-be W editor in chief was allegedly arrested last January after Beverly Hills police stopped him, refused a breathalyzer test, and failed field sobriety tests. He was arraigned last March, but according to Gawker, "the trial was delayed for over a year while the defense filed several motions to suppress evidence, according to the courthouse docket"--and now that he has a bit of time before the W gig begins, Tonchi is settling his business. But hey, these kind of Les Liaisons Dangereuses only make us like him more. He IS human!
