(NEW YORK) The Cinema Society screening of Paper Man dealt with one of mankind's oft-unspoken indulgences: imaginary friends. Although at last night’s event (sponsored by UGG Australia & the Suffolk County Film Commission), nobody from the cast or crew actually fessed up. “I wish I had an imaginary friend that looked like Ryan Reynolds," sighed Jeff Daniels. “That would be a nice alter ego to have.” In the film, Reynolds' character sported a superhero costume. “Oh, yeah, I've done costumes!” laughed the actor. ”I think I even made a 16 MM movie once where I played Batman. It was possibly the worst movie I’ve ever done!”

While Daniels enjoyed his rare day off (he’s still performing on Broadway in God of Carnage), his 21 year-old co-star Emma Stone had another reason to be giddy. "I'm going to play sixteen and seventeen year olds as long as they let me,” smiled the actress. “There's never any reasonable logic to playing older!” The actors were joined at the screening by plenty of admirers like Mike Myers, Hope Davis, Dree Hemingway, John Cameron Mitchell, Irina Pantaeva, Daniel Benedict and Rachel Roy. Carolyn Murphy attended the Crosby Hotel event on a last-minute hunch. “I've spent like four to five hours in meetings until suddenly, my agents invited to me to the movie premiere,” said the supermodel. “I'm still a bit jet lagged and startled!"

Following the film, the troops ambled over to the Crosby's lounge for an after-party fueled by Grey Goose cocktails. Ryan Brown and Lorenzo Martone had three leggy dates for the evening (Heide Lindgren, Irina Shayk, and Julie Ordon), while Olympians like Jason Rogers and Jonny Weir merited their own admirers. The film’s husband-and-wife directing team of Kieran and Michele Mulroney enjoyed a night on the town during a long streak of projects such as writing the Sherlock Holmes sequel. “We spend so much time together that we can discuss script ideas while doing the dishes,” said Michele. “It's actually very efficient!”  “We know each other's strengths and weaknesses to the core,” agreed Kieran. “So usually I can predict when Michele is going to scream at me.” She laughed. “And you earn it when I do!"
