Smoking Attire, Literally
Forget the smoking slipper, or jacket, or any other cig-skewed articles of attire. (P.S. Smoking's bad, duh, darlings!) At the Pratt Institute fashion show and awards, student Meredith Lyon turned out a quartet of completely mesmerizing looks that, in some way, shape, or form, resembled stogs or related matters. White thigh-highs got ringed in camel, thus resembling cigarette filters; the same effect was also achieved by colorblocked trou in the same combos; flatforms sported grayish tassels, a la piles of ashes; and boxy coats and tunics were printed with a mega-scaled print of, you guessed it, a bunch of butts. "Thank you for not smoking" got festooned on bandeaus, cropped jackets, and more. Accessories befitting the theme, in a Marlboro-esque color scheme, included round-rimmed glasses crossed out (a la anti-smoking signage), lighters tucked into bra straps, and cig packs securing the back-yoked detail on one look. A gazillion points for creativity, Ms. Lyon!
