Erin Wasson put her foot in her mouth a couple years ago when she waxed poetic on the unique style of homeless people. Now, photographer Julia Chesky has gone one step further, shooting a story called The Original Hipster with Chris, who lives on Mercer Street. "On most days, he doesn't even look like he's truly homeless," says Chesky of her unlikely model, who she describes as homeless "by choice." Well, she's got our attention: in the story, Chris sports piled on jewelry and totes shopping bags from Marc Jacobs and Marni. (Click gallery for all the shots.) An faux pas of Wasson proportions, or an open-minded look at fashion and the modeling world? We report, you decide...
