(NEW YORK) Catherine Malandrino
Catherine Malandrino is preparing for the opening of 25 stores in Asia, so it's only fitting that her Fall 2010 collection indulged a "Khan" theme. The French designer focused on Genghis Khan's rise to power in Mongolia, and she used elaborate fur pieces to hearken back to that time of conquest and the riches that accompanied it. Malandrino's chiffon party dresses were as delectable as ever, and the leather jackets, accessories, and eveningwear were equally destined for success on the sales floor.

Commonwealth Utilities
For their first runway collection, designers Anthony Keegan and Richard Christiansen aimed for “rugged luxury with craftsmanship and sharp tailoring." Their collection, themed An Officer and a Gentleman, showed a strong focus on shopper-friendly separates. The duo dreamed up solid navy wool sweaters, a strong selection of motorcycle pants, sharply-cut dress shirts, and two-pocket long johns. The collaboration between Keegan and Christiansen has proved appealing to both editors and retailers. No wonder their first store concept is slated to open in the near future.
