Blue Voyage Cruises-The Theoi Al Einai laid the perfect backdrop for our motley crew – and there was something for every person in our party. For the photographer, the most picturesque sunrises and bluest water on this planet. For the foodie, the fresh catch of the day caught from the side of the boat. For me, the designer, inspiring prints and colors from both the sea and land – and an excuse to go without RTW, opting for a week of bikinis. For my husband, the film buff, there was a special treat – a boat docked next to us was creating a short film of what could best be described as pornographic in nature? We all left the trip…inspired.

You should know that I have, in my husband’s words, a “pathological addiction to the sun.”  Don’t ask him about the time he tried to stop and get coffee on the way to the beach. Never ask me if you’re too tan – there is no such thing.  I know, I may pay for it later, but to me, nothing says vacation like sun and sea.  I do, however, have a fear of sharks – and if you try to tell me it’s irrational, I will direct you to the 68 people that were attacked last year.  Luckily I have developed a strategy – send your husband and loved ones out in the water first and use them as human bait.  If they last over 20 minutes, the waters are safe for a dip. Look for my new line of shark-resistant bikinis, coming Spring 2011. Turkey – I love you, but you’ve left me with an insatiable Vitamin D deficiency!
