If the history of eyewear seems a topic un peu dry to you, think again. Italian Trade Commission and Italian Optical Goods Manufacturer’s Association recently opened “Eyewear from the Beginning to the Future: The history of eyeglasses from their invention in Italy to the latest trends,” a mini-exhibition at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Station. Tomorrow is the last day to see the array, which features everything from 13th century Italian eyewear to these amazingly wacky frames, formerly owned by Sir Elton John.
