Riff Raf
Now that's he's settled in a bit, Raf Simons is revealing his plans for Dior to Vogue UK and they don't appear to have a lot in common with John Galliano. The designer tells Alexandra Shulman that he wants to develop "a code" for the brand and cites Chanel as an inspiration. "The Chanel woman? I don't even need to see, I smell her from around the corner, but I don't recognize the Dior woman," he said. "I want to work on that fast. Chanel has the deux-pièces with the pockets, or the bouclé, but what is it for Dior nowadays? I can't say." Simons also explains that he would like the brand to have more street appeal. "Dior's ultimate obsession is that he wanted [the public] to wear it. I want them to wear it on the street," he shared. "If it doesn't relate to the outside, then it would be very theatrical for me."
