Has Polaroid Eyewear really been around for three-quarters of a century? Indeed! It's only fitting that 1,000 of Polaroid and Safilo's closest industry friends, including Leigh Lezark, Whitney Port, and Adam Driver celebrated 75 years of passion and innovation. The shindig took place at the MoMA—an apropos locale, considering the museum’s Architecture and Design collection includes an original pair of 1946 Polaroid sunnies donated by Edgar Kaufmann Jr., heir to Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater home. Quite a spec-tacular historical nugget, non? Also on offer at the bash: Guests could dabble with polarization effects via a striking glare installation and pose in the new spring 2013 Polaroid Plus collection, set to a Misshapes-curated soundtrack. Cheers to another 75 years of style, success, and shady awesomeness!
