(NEW YORK) Parisians and francophiles decamped to the West Village Tuesday night for a screening of the French film Change of Plans hosted by Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller at the IFC Center. Dreaming of the City of Lights, guests including Oscar de la Renta, Gilles Bensimon and Fran Lebowitz amped themselves up for the flick focusing on relationships and all the dishy happenings during a summer dinner party. How were director Daniele Thompson and actor son Christopher Thompson feeling pre-screening? “We don’t know yet!” she laughed. “We’ll just have to wait a couple hours to really find out.” The movie was released a year ago in France and is just now debuting in the U.S.. “I’m very interested to see the movie because I’ve forgotten it a bit!” the director confessed. “I’m anxious about everyone’s reactions and to see if they laugh during the same parts that we laughed at in France.”

“A French movie, people talking about sex, and plenty of food? C’mon! Can you think of a better way to spend a night?” Josh Hamilton challenged. “I can’t get enough of Paris. It’s actually where I got married. Any excuse to get there, right?”  As the film focused on dinner parties, everyone was feeling famished. Post-screening, guests brought their appetites to the DvF Studio for drinks and a buffet dinner. Naturally, the topic of favorite Parisian confections came up. While Hamilton favored pastries, Jennifer Missoni, who plays a chef on Royal Pains, admitted, “Playing a chef really doesn’t make me want to cook more. Too lazy! I made dinner last night, for the first time in awhile, actually. But it’s just so easy to go to Whole Foods and hit up the salad bar.”
