2010 February 4
Naomi CAREs
(NEW YORK) Russia resident Naomi Campbell has been missing from the New York runways for seasons now, but come February 12, the super will be back. Fashion For Relief, a charity fashion show and auction, will take to the Tents in aid of CARE, which will raise funds towards rebuilding Haiti’s healthcare system for mothers and children. Duchess of York Sarah Fergusen will host the star-studded, Rachel Zoe-styled runway show, which will feature a slew of VIP models wearing creations by top designers—all of which will be auctioned online at Net-A-Porter.com starting February 15. Maybelline global makeup artist Charlotte Willer will be spearheading the makeup team, with hair by Orlando Pita.
“I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti,” said Campbell in a statement. “So many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake—women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters. Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone. Our aim is to use this season’s catwalk shows in New York to reach people and help raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children.” Unlike typically exclusive Fashion Week shows, Fashion For Relief will be open to the public for a price. American Express Cardmembers have exclusive access to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets can be purchase for $100 and $150, with proceeds going to CARE.
