Meet Karl Magnus Lagerfeld, EIC of French Architectural Digest
Le Lagerfeld is back in the editor's seat with next month's French Architectural Digest issue. Hot on the heels of his stint as a guest editor for a global string of Metro newspapers two months ago, the Kaiser gave French Arch Digest EIC Marie Kalt a break from her decor-editing duties. More Karl intel to emerge from his editing gig: his middle name is Magnus...which doubles as part of his pen name (the faux surname is Dancourt, simply because it sounds so freakin' French)...because he used to write about décor (for French Arch Digest and elsewhere). The issue drops on April 13 to the tune of $6.60 (4.95 euros), with a beefed-up quantity of 150,000 copies because it's, well, Lagerfeld. So what happens when Karl deals in lap pools in lieu of Chanel pearls? Picky perfection on gadgetry and chairs, the latter of which Lagerfeld plucked 20 passably chic perches out of 140 options. What, you expected him to sit down just anywhere?
