Marc on LV, in V
Chic can never get enough Marc (who can, really?)...so there's lots to love about V mag's catch-up with the designer in their March issue about his stint at Louis Vuitton, from being "totally freaked out" about scoring the gig in 1997 to overseeing a slew of crazy-successful collabs and campaigns. The sports-themed issue, which hits newsstands on March 1, includes MJ's two cents on ending up at chez Vuitton: "We had done a few test projects for them [LVMH], not knowing where it would end up. They chose us, and we were in no position to disagree.” Also, the challenge of crafting the LV lady from scratch, save for a monogram satchel or two: “There is no incredible ’70s archive, no amazing ’50s archive to look to for inspiration. In a way we had to create a woman...at least outside of what she was carrying.” Mission accomplished, Marc! Also: check out a sneak peek of V's fab feature on industry "Ones to Watch," including Alistair Carr at Pringle of Scotland and Olivier Rousteig at Balmain, here. Plus...synchronized swimmers on the cover! J'adore.
