Ever want to walk around like one of the most beautiful gals on the planet? Your prayers have been answered! Alessandra Ambrosio was in New York last night to celebrate her new collaboration with Melissa shoes. Yup, Alessandra has partnered up with the Brazilian cobbler to design a range of shoes. Chic caught up with the delightful angel at their SoHo store to get the scoop and try to get some dirt about her Olympic appearance.

How are the babies?

They are amazing. I really miss them after 2 days of being away. I can't wait to be back home with my kids. I have 2 more days of work and then I go. I can't stay too long, no more than 3 or 4 days.

Have you been watching the Olympics?

Yeah, I was looking at it last night. I watched some of the swimming and gymnastics. I saw the women's lifting. I was addicted to it over the weekend. It's good to go to the gym too and watch it. It gets me motivated!

Any fave sport?

Beach volleyball. I also like surfing, but it's not in the Olympics. Beach volley is big in Brazil, and I play every weekend when I'm in L.A.

Favorite Olympic athlete?

All the Brazilians. What's his name, the guy who just won second place in swimming? I don't know his name, my sister knows! [calls over to sister]. Thiago Machado Vilela Pereira is his name!

Tell us about the collab with Melissa!

They reached out to me. I thought it was a great idea because I've known Melissa since I was little. I wore it as a little girl. My name actually was supposed to be Melissa, and it wasn't because of the shoes.

They're huge in Brazil!

Oh my gosh, yeah. My daughter only wears Melissa shoes. She has the red, the white, the gold, and the black. It felt very natural to design something for them. It's a mini collection. One high heel with sparkles and glamour and glitter for the night. The other is a basic ballerina shoe that's girly, basic, and sophisticated.

What's next on your plate?

I'm participating in the closing ceremony of the Olympics.

What are you doing?

I can't really say what I'm doing, but I'm nervous! It'll be amazing. It's my first time at the Olympics, so it's pretty cool.
