Marchesa's Georgina Chapman: From Project Runway to Reality TV?

If you're a diehard Project Runway fan, you've probably got Thursday's All Stars episode at 9 p.m. ET in the DVR or TiVO queue already. How about Lifetime's new half-hour fashion special, Project Runway Spotlight: Marchesa, which airs next Thursday at 10 p.m. ET.? It's Georgina Chapman's second year as a PR judge; in the special, the designer offers up an inside look at her life minus the judge’s chair. What can you expect from the documentary? Prepare yourself to be a fly on the wall at Marchesa HQ, vicariously experiencing every facet of Chapman's everyday life, including the making of a gown, awards season madness, and runway showings. Project Runway Spotlight will feature interviews from fashion elite such as Anna Wintour (you know you've made it when AW weighs in on a doc about you, non?) and the likes of Halle Berry and Eva Longoria. While Chapman may have been accustomed to cameras rolling constantly on the Project Runway set, but having the crew around in her daily life was another story. "I felt like the contestants. You're tired and working. You become unaware that they are there after a while," Chapman told a cadre of reporters on a conference call powwow this afternoon. Could that mean there is a reality show in Chapman's future? "I like to think my life wouldn't be that dramatic. I am too boring for that!" Alas, there may not be a 12-episode series in Marchesa's future, so a half-hour doc is good enough for us (for now).
