Frank Muytjens’ Awesome Crew
Sure, some of you might have focused on women’s Fall 2010 J.Crew delights but we’re salivating for the crisp men’s full of wonderful jackets, neat ties, comfortable jeans, and lots of Earthy tones. “For Fall I was inspired by artists’ studios – specifically Brancusi’s studio in Paris,” said the very talented J.Crew Head of Men’s Design, Frank Muytjens. “I admire his work and the tensions he creates as he combines humble materials: rough wood with smooth or shiny glass with matte. I also drew inspiration from Classic American Style and referenced the past by incorporating elements such as Army, Navy Surplus and Utilitarian details to give the line gravity and heart. The collection feels current because we designed pieces that are masculine & relevant by updating the fit, fabrics and colors and giving the collection a sophisticated and rugged feel." Gentlemen: start carving out your autumn Fall J.Crew budget now!
