DKNY Men Go Camping
(New York City) The Breslin Bar, located in the Ace Hotel, set the scene for a DKNY Men's collection made for the Ivy League frat boy born in Wyoming and roughing it in the big city. The dark wood paneling, dusty books, oversize vintage American flag, and taxidermied decorations complimented the Fall 2010 designs and made it feel like The Daily had crashed a party thrown by a 1950 all-boys prep school. Young, fresh-faced boy-next-door models mingled with the crowd sipping beer, grabbing mouthfuls of meat and bread, and chatting away with cute, hipster girls on velvet couches. (Overheard more than once: "Get back to your station!") Grey wool lapel blazers were layered over chocolate hoodies, slouchy khaki cargos and slim black cotton trousers got tucked into thick wool socks, and tailored suits were worn under nylon puffer jackets, military parkas, and shawl collar sweaters. Topping off the look, Merrell provided the accessory du jour with their boy scout-ready wilderness and phaser peak waterproof boots. Don't be surprised if you find them hiding in your girlfriend's shoe closet.
