Once Rescue Beauty Lounge loyalists, Chic has found itself more budget-focused lately (damn recession!), and as such, we've been relentlessly scouring for new nail salons that pack as much chic. After months of travail, found! Ladies and gents, behold Sakura, a teensy tiny little place on the Upper East Side (2nd Avenue and 89th, with a second location in the East Village) that offers flawless manicures that last for at least 5 days before chipping. (For Chic, this is a serious accomplishment.) Not to mention the Everyday Organics lotions, clean and pristine stations, and gratis mug of green tea. Did we mention a manicure is $12?! Try to contain yourselves. But what really draws the crowds is Sakura's Calgel application. Very thin coats of this organic, non-toxic polish are applied and dried, leaving you with a manicure that will last for three weeks (or longer) without a chip or scratch. Now you know how we make it through Fashion Week unscathed!
THE DETAILS: Sakura Nail and Spa, Uptown: 1709 Second Avenue, 212.722.1734; Downtown: 35 East 1st Street, 212. 387.9161; manicures from $12, pedicures from $26
