Coach Wins Big Bucks
As New Yorkers, Chic is all too familiar with counterfeit handbags (not that we've ever purchased any ourselves!). Today, Coach put an end to the knockoff bandits copying their designs; the U.S. handbag brand has been awarded $257 million damages in the latest Internet counterfeiting case. These big bucks top the amounts won by Burberry and Hermès, who were each awarded $100 million in similar cases earlier this year. Coach will now also be able to shut down over 570 domains selling fake Coach goods. One small step for tacky accessories and one giant leap for Coach!
