Cha-ching! Net-A-Porter's Sales Up 55 Percent in 2012
Xie xie, chéris! Net-A-Porter’s Natalie Massenet should be thanking her Chinese clientele. After acquiring Chinese luxury e-commerce platform Shouke Limited in February of last year and converting it into TheOutnet.cn, the Asian version of Net-A-Porter’s discount site TheOutnet.com, the company’s sales rose by 55 percent in 2012. Now that’s an increase! The expansion into the Chinese market also led to a doubled employee head count and a sales increase from roughly $383 million to $592 million. And that’s why everyone continues to head tout de suite to the East!
