Think your family is weird? We asked the fash set to divulge their holiday traditions to us. Happy holidays from all of us at The Daily!
Stacey Bendet: "I like to make candy-covered Christmas trees. We spend Christmas in Hawaii and you can’t do a whole tree so I get mini trees from Target and I let my daughters decorate it in candy."
Lela Rose: "I don’t know if it’s wacky, but for years we did a string gift. It’s the last gift under the tree. You have to follow the string all over the house, over door jambs and under stairs until you find the gift."
Brian Atwood: "Karaoke on Thanksgiving singing “Under the Bridge”. I love that song, and I think I do it very well! Maybe that’s just in my head."
Prabal Gurung: "I don’t know if I should even tell you! Really I am as boring as they get for the holidays. I spend it with friends and people I love. I like to watch other people go crazy."
Brian Mazza: "I still make my parents wrap my presents and put them under the tree from Santa. I also watch Christmas Vacation on repeat."
Karlie Kloss: "My family loves to play board games. There is this one crazy one that takes five hours to play and we all get really competitive. It’s like life or death."
Jason Wu: "I'm not sure that I have one so I guess that's the wackiest holiday tradition; that I don't have one."
Marlon Gobel: "I've been friends with the same four guys for the last 16 years and every Christmas we have a dinner with just the four of us. We're all in the art industry in some way, so our personal aesthetic is very important to us. In 1996, Mark gave me the most hideous un-me vase as a present. We were new friends, so I was often forced to dispay it in my apartment. The other guys, John and Tim, loved teasing me, but they never let Mark know that I hated the vase. The next Christmas I gave Tim one of the ugliest paintings I could find. I wrapped it in the box from the vase that Mark gave me. That night the truth came out about the vase, the jokes, and a deal to not make our Christmas gatherings a gift giving event. However, "The Box Gift" would continue. Each year the receiver of the previous year's gift must give it to the friend of his choice."
