Carol Brodie Wards Off Haters Via HSN Collection!
Last night Carol Brodie celebrated her HSN namesake collection, which launches Friday, with family and friends (and Chic) at the Soho House. Brodie debuted her talisman-detailed jewelry, bags, and homegoods, warning haters to beware!
How is this collection different from your previous HSN lines?
In 2009, I launched my high-end jewelry collection called Rarities: Fine Jewelry With Carol Brodie on HSN. That was a sell out from my first show. I'm a Harry Winston girl; that's where I got my training. Every woman wants fabulous jewelry. We would rather eat cereal for a week as long as we could have one amazing thing. I took the best of Bergdorf, Barneys, and Harry Winston and a pulled together a beautiful collection of fine jewelry. What I noticed from customers were their favorites: peacock feathers, evil eyes, and all the talismans.
What is the significance of the talisman?
Everything I do has a story. I've been through a lot in my life, and I sell fine jewelry, but I also sell fine stories about real life.
The candles smell delish!
I went to every candle manufacturer on the planet because I am a quality craftsmanship snob! I may sell at value price points, but I'm still a big snob. I found DL & Company: they make the most amazing candles. I went to Paris and I had all my oils blended there. Every candle and diffuser mixes five top notes.
What's the symbolism behind the evil eye on them?
Every piece carries one talisman or another; mostly evil eyes are featured right now. It is a lucky charm that protects us against ill will, jealousy, and all the haters. There are a lot of haters out there! We all need protection.
What are you warding off?
I had cancer this summer, so my evil eye wards off the cancerous people in my life and the cancer. I am completely cancer free! Thank God for my evil eye.
