Do you remember the first word you ever spoke?
I wish I could phone a friend! I’d call my dad, because I know he knows!

Knowing yourself now, what do you think you would have said first?
Oh, I know this actually. I learned how to count to three in Japanese before I learned in English.

Do you speak Japanese now?
No! I know nothing. Sadly. My mom has a third degree in jujitsu, so that’s how I learned to count. From the time I was a little girl, she’d take me to the dojo and I’d just sit on the side and watch her. She’d break boards all over the place. She was a very strong and tough woman.

Do you have a belt in anything?
I don’t. I actually wanted to study so bad, but she didn’t want me to get hurt. She thought it was better, and safer, if I got into dancing, instead.
