Au Revoir, Maria Luisa
After 12 fabulous years, Chic is heartbroken to bid au revoir to Paris style emporium Maria Luisa. Its owner, Maria Luisa Poumaillou, created a critical fash focal point at her tiny boutique on Rue Rouget de L’Isle, right around the corner from le Meurice and the Ritz. Designers from Rick Owens and Manolo Blahnik angled to sell there, while equally in-demand editors relished it as a shopping source and between-shows timekiller. But perhaps the closure was to be expected. Poumaillou was recently appointed fashion editor of Printemps, and she also aims to develop an e-boutique at thecorner.com. Bonne chance!
