Ashley Greene, Trading Fangs for Fashion?
At last night's Cinema Society screening of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, Chic chatted with an almost-teary Ashley Greene (also known as the "Twi-cry" among true fanatics). A vampire since 2008, might Greene be turning swapping her fangs for fashion?
How was your life changed since 2008 when the Twilight phenom began?
I no longer have my parents on my back telling me to return to college! There is stability at age 25, which is a very nice thing and unusual thing in the entertainment industry. I was 20 when Twilight started and even without Twilight, between those years you grow so much as a woman. To have something like Twilight pushing you through, I've learned a lot about my morals, my values, and myself.
How did it propel you into the fashion world?
The fashion world has opened itself up to me! I was living in Jacksonville until 2008 and wore jean shorts and flip-flops. Which is totally fine and I'd still wear that on any given day! How will fashion become a part of your life post-Twilight?
I've been blessed to be partnered up with DKNY and Donna Karan. I've seen things behind-the-scenes and how things are made. I now know everything that goes into it. Also, I've had many introductions to people within the fashion industry.
Might these intros lead to a career segue to design?
There is no clear-cut path, but I do want to explore and have fun. I'll never say never! At this point I'm getting comfortable in my acting profession, so if that was to happen, it'd be down the line. Maybe...
