Alexander Wang is officially a grown up! His first ever ads will exclusively hit the March issue of Interview mag and a billboard in downtown Manhattan. One little problem: you're not allowed to call it a campaign. Pourquoi? "We restrained from using those words, because you set yourself up for doing things in a systematic way — like rolling out ads in the magazines certain times of the year,” he says. The designer would prefer if you called the ads "image pieces," which is a little much for us. Really? Because historically, if you buy a page in a magazine, that's an ad. But if it's just one magazine...makes you wonder.
