Alexander Wang To Tap Carine Roitfeld For Balenciaga?
Just a few short hours ago, rumor had it that current golden boy Alexander Wang tapped CR editrix Carine Roitfeld to take on the role of stylist at his new très grand post as designer for Balenciaga. Alas, the buzz got nipped in the bud by NY Times' Eric Wilson, who went straight to Roitfeld for the truth: that's a nay, alas. "I think I have enough on my plate," Roitfeld told Wilson. Too bad! The edgy pair would be a match made in heaven with their penchant for daring and creative new ideas like, say, putting a drag queen on the cover of Paris Vogue or creating glow-in-the-dark clothing for a show's smashing finale. The two longtime pals have collaborated in the past, and who better to help make Wang’s entrée smooth and the buzz bigger than ever than La Roit? We wish!
