Who Did The Alexander Wang Team Deny at NYFW?
The NY Times profiles Meryl Streep's actress daughter Mamie Gummer about life as a thespian and hitting the pavement to get her name out there in the biz of show. One fascinating little tidbit in the piece is that Alexander Wang's team denied her a front row seat at his show last month. "We don’t feel like there’s enough of an already established relationship between her and the brand,” his publicist, Leslie Rubisch, wrote in an email. The Gray Lady is translating this as Gummer projecting the wrong image for the label. "Maybe that’s the backlash to my image as a socialite,” Gummer mused. “Then again,” she added, reddening, “that’s just them being pretentious. It’s an uptown socialite move.” Ohnoshedidn't! Bring it to the schoolyard, kids!
