(NEW YORK) A grueling fashion week schedule led some editors to their apartments, couches, and Johnny Weir. But the die-hards took the 4/5/6 all the way uptown to the Cooper-Hewitt, where Kate and Laura Mulleavy hosted a kickoff cocktail for the Quicktake: Rodarte exhibition. The Vogue and Nordstrom-sponsored bash featured many of the same characters that populated the sisters' front row on Tuesday, such as Anna Wintour, Pete Nordstrom, Sally Singer, Spike Jonze, and Justin Theroux. "The process of doing a runway show is a lot more chaotic," said Laura Mulleavy. "Things happen so much more quickly!"

Avoiding the chaos—and the press corps—Natalie Portman took a quick peek upstairs at the 12-piece installation and departed by 7:30 p.m. Kirsten Dunst stayed much later—all night, in fact—and even spent some time en plein air with Kate and Laura. Liya Kebede's favorite look was the monochromatic grey ensemble with a leather moto jacket, nubby skirt, and scarf. With all the publicity and an exhibit to boot, what keeps these designers so grounded? "Well, I mean, we live with our parents!" laughed Laura. Enough said.
